New book in the mail. Linguistics has been an interest, but my brain simply wouldn’t do it at the level required to make it a profession.

Book originally published 1998. Addresses a variety of language matters including a couple still going on today.

At this point on the clock I have only read the book’s introduction.
Will note this from page 2,
“The fact is that all these cases demonstrate the pervasive influence of a number of myths about language, dismissed by all linguists but subscribed to by almost everyone else.”

Well, what about me? It can be said with some certainty that I'm not who I'm not. ("I am who I am" was already taken by a power greater than me) I do hobbies. I figure out how to live with a couple incurable endocrine and autoimmune illnesses. I am a late diagnosed autistic and that diagnosis even being a couple decades later that would have been optimum has helped bunches with doing life and living.
